Jahrestagung is giving a speech at the Green IT Forum
The Green IT Hall is not just about exhibition, but also education.  A forum is being held in the German language all day long hosting different guest speakers.  Next to the forum location green phones are exhibited with the Green IT Hotline sign.  “Bitkom represents more than thousand German IT companies including MS, HP, and many small companies,” spokeswoman of Bitkom said.  “AT CeBIT 2009, we launched the hotline 0800 Green IT, which is the full number 0800 473 3648.  This line is mainly for companies but also for private citizens who want to learn to work in an environmentally-friendly environment.”

Once the companies phone in, they can get information about sponsorship for Green IT projects.  “If a company wants to renew their IT and get more environmentally-friendly, it can phone in and get assistance with their projects and financing,” the spokeswoman added.  Bitkom organizes the hotline, but financial support comes from the German Federal Environmental Industry.  It is about time to get real with Green IT and the German government sets a good example by showing the most realistic yet accommodating support.
