According to IGAWorks, an ADTech company, NCsoft’s mobile game ‘Lineage M’ reported sales of 251 million dollars in Taiwan in the first quarter of this year. In the first quarter of 2018, the Taiwanese game application market sales amounted to 43.6 million dollars, of which 53 percent were raised by Lineage M.

Lineage M has secured big sales in Taiwan thanks to the original online game Lineage. Lineage is also known as a national online game in Taiwan. In Taiwan, last year, Lineage had 9 million cumulative members, 700,000 monthly users, and cumulative sales of 700.6 million dollars.

As Lineage M faithfully moved the original online game, it is possible to analyze that existing users have moved to mobile games. Lineage M surpassed 2.5 million pre-release reservations in Taiwan, achieving the best pre-booking of local mobile games.

Netmarble’s ‘Lineage 2 Revolution’ recorded 149.5 million dollars in sales since its launch in Taiwan last June.

Besides the Lineage series, Ragnarok M has earned about 41.1 million dollars in sales since its release in Taiwan in October 2017.

Korea gaming companies’ excellent performance has also positively affected Taiwanese companies. According to Lineage M Taiwan publisher Gamania, the company has seen a 200 percent increase in revenue since its release in December of last year.

As of 2015, the Taiwanese gaming market is worth about 934.1 billion dollars, with mobile games accounting for more than 60 percent of the market.
