In May, The Biggest World IT Show 2010 Will Be Held in Seoul

The biggest IT-specialized exhibition in South Korea, World IT Show 2010 that will assure that South Korea is the IT power in the world will be held for four days from May 25 Tue. to May 28 Fri. at COEX, which is located in Samsung-dong.

World IT Show (WIS) is an IT exhibition event representing South Korea that integrated the existing exhibition events including SEK, IT-Korea, KIECO, and EXPO COMM. It is co-hosted by Ministry of Knowledge Economy, Korea Economy, Korea Communications Commission, and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. In terms of last year, an estimated 160,000 people from 52 countries attended WIS.

Especially for this year, it will focus on the theme of Feel IT, See the Next, and it will cover all of branches of IT industries. The IT convergence category will consist of energy, automobiles, robotics, and medical care, and software. In the category of contents and solution will include: digital appliances, home digital, portable equipment, and the next generation PC. For the broadcast & telecommunication category will consist of: the Internet, networking, the next generation mobile telecommunication, and the next generation broadcasting system. Thus, in the category of electronic equipment it will include displays and semiconductors. Therefore, during the exhibition period, the spectacular feast of the most-recent futuristic IT technologies and the newest products is expected to bloom.

For doing so, the host already announced that after circulating various promotion and marketing activities through KITA overseas branches of the main positions and making a global partnership with the sponsor of EXPO COMM - E. J. Krause and a global convention enterprise, Reed Exhibitions. Thus, this event has already hosted 200 foreign companies including foreign IT leading companies like HP, Toshiba, and Microsoft and as a result of it, 700 companies from 30 countries would be expected to attend.

In addition to those, a globalized-scale IT exhibition is expected to continue with various additional events including exporting & investment consulting session, FTTH Council Asia Pacific Annual Conference, G-TEK 2010, ITRC forum 2010, broadcasting & telecommunication minister-hosted a conference, which worldwide IT leaders, influential IT-specialized presses, and foreign buyer groups with substantial purchasing power will participate in. The host predicts that approximately 4,000 foreign buyer groups will visit WIS, which is an increase of 200 percent than the previous year's figure of 2266 buyers.

Especially, as exporting consulting records successfully exceeded over KRW 200 million consecutively for the last two years and the participation rates of foreign buyers went up by more than five percent, WIS has positioned itself as the best IT-specialized exhibition representing South Korea.

Moreover, this is not just for leading IT enterprises, but it plans to dramatically upgrade the existing exhibition in order for medium-and-small-sized companies and visitors to receive attention and lead this event. The WIS office plans to finish on-going survey toward the participants of the last year and actively reflect claims of them according to the results immediately after doing it.

Furthermore, the host also plans to perform one-stop service that allocates the manager to assume wholly-charged responsibilities for the participating companies, thereby establishing the consistent support system from the acceptance process to the end. Last, but not least, with a special promotion session of new technologies and products penetrated toward bloggers and spectators. Also, it establishes the extraordinary stages that on-line specialized bloggers and users can directly interact with IT companies.
