The firm and the school decided to work together and made some ideas to raise students’ self-initiated job searching ability.

The CEO of IDM BarumElectroics, Taesub Kim, held the opening ceremony of Barun School at the Hwigyeong Technical High School (Principal Gyosu Chu), located in Dondaemun-gu, Seoul.

The members of Barun Electronics department of social contribution and the teaching staff of Hwigyeong Technical High School participated in the opening ceremony of Barun School. They discussed the vocational education for the students and how they coordinate business and school long-term cooperation.

Barun School is a follow-up program of Seoul Global Internship, and was selected as a prototype last year by Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education. This program provides special high school students a professional mentoring such as IT-special lectures, which are related to semiconductor•IoT•AI technology, and lectures for the interview or soft skills.

20 years old young school, Hwigyeong Technical High School, has 35% of teaching staffs in their twenties. Before the Barun School, teaching staffs discussed actively with Barun Electronics about the lecture themes and students interest.

The CEO of Barun Electronics, Taesub Kim, said “Students can reduce the maladjustment probability throughchoosingthe job best suited to them, which they can learn througha systematic vocational program.” And he said “Barun School has a role to support the students to be a right member of society through sharing the firm’s know-how.”

A teacher of Hwigyeong Technical High School, Jaehwang Ahn, said “Students had problems to get actual information of the jobs but I expect now that they can have realistic mentoring by the Barun School.” And he said “Especially the meeting with mentors is a really good chance to hear the stories and know-how from actual experts, who are working at the field.”
The communication department leader of Barun Electronics, Myunghwan Seol, held the discussion about the theme ‘How can we effectively communicate in the mentoring program’ with the teaching staff before the Barun School.
