SYDNEY, July 20, 2018 /PRNewswire/orea IT Times-- G5 Capital (G5), the organizer and co-host of the Global Technology Innovation Summit 2018, announced the winner of the competition to an audience of investors, academics, tech business leaders, and professional associations at an award ceremony on July 13, 2018. After a lengthy roadshow and a tough series of rounds, first place was eventually awarded to Immaterial Lab for their innovative pre-school education project. This qualifies them to enter the Chinese accelerator and receive support from G5's global network.

This year's venture capital competition covered several globally trending entrepreneurial topics, including pre-school education, real estate, indoor drones and commercial satellites. After a roadshow, appraisal and question-and-answer session, an expert jury composed of three local government officials, university professors, and venture capital experts judged the finalists. The on-site audience were also invited to vote for the most popular entrepreneurial project during the competition, which went to the second place winner, Ambient Map.

The competition was organized and hosted by G5, alongside HAINA Incubator Sydney, the G5 Australian Innovation Venture Capital Centre, and the Tsinghua Yangtze River Delta Research Institute. The competition was established to find outstanding, innovative and entrepreneurial projects in Australia and to connect them to a global investment support network via G5's global venture capital ecosystem. A system which connects entrepreneurial communities, startups, venture capital platforms, investment and educational institutions to relieve some of the pain points startups face in their early stages.

G5 specializes in cross-border two-way multi-directional incubation, operating in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and China to provide a cross-border investment eco-system, support and office space for early-stage entrepreneurial projects. G5 actively welcomes collaboration from partners and is constantly looking to improve their offering to startups by expanding their network. In the second half of 2018, G5 is excited to be collaborating with leading local venture capital institutions and local governments to host more competitions this year in the fields of science & technology.
