The Chinese goverment promises full support to KDC

On April 22, KDC singed a MOU with the Jilin Government of China for establishing the biggest 3D content production-base in the province.

The CEO of KDC group Kim Tae-sub and the Chairman for Realscop, Lee Je-kwon attended a meeting with officials from Jilin and Changchun government. This agreement is composed for the full support for equipment, facilities, education and human resources' for 3D production from the Chinese government.

Jilin is rated as the perfect place for 3D production-base. Jilin has various image infrastructures, the Changchun movie factory; Korea's manpower could be possible from Yanbian  Korean Autonomous Prefecture (Korean residents in China). Thus, each year Jilin produces 20 thousand computer graphical workers.

The Chairman of Realscope Lee Je-kwon said, "Because of the biggest box office movies such as 'Avatar', 'Take off (Korean movie about National athletes)', the importance of computer generated imagery (CGI) has risen. Yet, it is hard to compete with the global market with only domestic CGI infrastructures." And he emphasized the fact that Korea needs to produce characters, screenplays to attract advertisers.

In July, KDC is planning to participate at the International Animation School in Jilin that has a turnout of more than 700 3D participants. An official from KDC added, "We are in concert with the local government in Korea to build 300 to 500 3D production centers."

During the last year, KDC had provided 3D goods in 35 nations throughout the world and achieved KRW 30 billion revenue. Since 2006, KDC has made inroads into the 3D content business and the company has produced 3D versions of live performances of Korean pop stars. Plus, they created a KBS show 'Wood furniture from Joseon Dynasty' and 'variegated crayon' which is animation with 2D/3D convertible system (self-development). Along with, they flourish their technology in many different areas.
