The police reportedly raided Samsung Electronics' Giheung business site on Sept. 10, which lost three people due to a large amount of carbon dioxide leak.

According to the authorities and related industries, the Yongin Dongbu Police Station in Gyeonggi Province raided Samsung Electronics' environment safety team from 9:45 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the date and secured data on the fire.

The police plan to send the seized data to the National Forensic Service to analyze the data and investigate the Samsung Electronics' related departments and three subcontractors to find out the exact cause of the accident.

Police conducted a joint inspection on the accident scene with six organizations, including the National Forensic Service, a fire station and Korea Gas Safety Corp.

Police estimate that the valve section on the carbon dioxide pipes was damaged, causing carbon dioxide leakage.

The police plan to conduct an analysis of the relevant data obtained on Sept. 10 and investigate the causes of the accident through probe into subcontractors and officials from Samsung. In addition, it plans to take a judicial action for those involved according to the case of negligence.

Three people, Lee (25), Kim (55) and Joo (27), were found dead at a carbon dioxide concentration facility on the first basement level of Samsung Electronics' Giheung business complex. All three were taken to the hospital, but Lee died.
