Samsung C&T operates a market for direct trading on the occasion of the Chuseok with villages that have sisterly ties with the company in each category to celebrate the Korean version of Thanksgiving Day and conducts volunteer activities.
The construction department has been operating the market since Sept. 10. Fourteen specialties recommended by five sister villages in the construction/trading/resort section are offered, and special product display and tasting are also held in front of the first basement restaurant in Sangil-dong.
The business section has been selling nine types of products from the sister village since Sept. 11. By Sept. 14, employees are allowed to check and purchase quality agricultural products through the sample display.
The resort section also started from Sept. 11 with potato and deodeok, mountain herb whose roots have restorative properties , special products of Hongcheon Bahoe Village.
A Samsung C&T official said, "The direct trading site for Chuseok is a win-win place for both residents in sister villages with increased sales and Samsung executives and employees with the purchase of good-quality farm products."
