WIS floor in 2009

Korea's biggest IT business exhibition, World IT Show 2010 (WIS 2010), is soon to be held at COEX in Seoul from May 25~28. WIS 2010 is hosted by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy (MKE), Korea Communications Commission (KCC) and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST). Under the slogan of 'Feel IT, See the Next', the trend of future IT industry can be experienced through new technologies displayed by hundreds of exhibitors.

 

WIS has everything

Since 2008, SEK, IT-KOREA, KIECO, and EXPO COMM events were unified to create the largest IT show, WIS in Korea. This year is the third annual event with 1,500 booths available for 550 international businesses. About 200 foreign IT ministers, vice-ministers, government officials, and major corporate representatives from 15 countries are also expected to participate in the event for a ministerial meeting. With more number of exhibitors and visitors, WIS is growing to be a world-noted event.

Last year, more than 127,000 buyers from 52 countries and government officials from 18 countries have visited WIS 2009 to experience the trend of the new IT industry. The key exhibitors included Samsung Electronics, LG Electronics, Microsoft, Nortel, Qualcomm, Sharp Electronics, SK Telecom, Cisco Systems, Canon, HP, IBM, KT, Yamaha, and many more. Also, media representatives from 16 countries have completely covered the show with new technologies, products and solutions. On top of the exhibition itself, WIS 2009 conducted outstanding seminars, workshops, and forums to add flavors to the event.

This year, the key exhibition is categorized as digital home electronics, communication & broadcasting, industrial electronics, software & contents & solution, and IT convergence. The majority of visitors are expected to be early adopters from home and abroad. Anyone with high interest in new technologies must stop by. The hottest products this year on the show floor will be the brand new smartphones with improved platforms, LED touch displays, Google's 1GBs fiber optic cables for homes, and 4G wireless network. Various new technologies and products are expected to be introduced at the event.

 

New displays such as 3D TV, AMOLED, VFD and next generation displays, will be present, while network technologies like Wi-fi, 4G, Wibro, Mobile IPTV, DMB 2.0, Digital TV, broadcasting communication will also be displayed.

WIS 2010 offeres a lot to experience!

Exhibition products at WIS await the attendees' gentle touch. Everything from the concept products and newly released products will be available for the visitors to fully experience. Smartphones, e-books, PMPs, tablets, and many more are set ready to meet thousands of visitors. On top of that even some of the brand new games are said to be introduced at WIS 2010.


May is known as family month in Korea since it contains both Children's Day and Parent's Day. Take a picnic to WIS 2010. Not only the family can experience the latest technology, but they can also mosey off into COEX Mall after the exhibition to further be exposed in diverse recreational facilities at one spot. On the show floor itself, many companies will throw various IT shows and unique experience programs. The visitors will be able to experience sports and future consumer products like ones in sci-fi movies, using IT technology. Since the trendy IT gadgets are commonly interested by anyone at any age, if a family is seeking for an activity to shorten the generation gap, this is it.

A representative for WIS 2010 said, "WIS will highlight the major global IT companies' work for the year." He continued to say, "It is obvious that the IT industry is a driving force of the future. WIS will be a good opportunity for students to experience the future."

Expect

The Korean government has announced that they will fully support the IT industry, and promote WIS 2010 as a major IT exhibition in Korea. This year's event is expected to have more exhibitors and visitors to surpass last years' US$200 million worth of export deals. After the global economic crisis, more companies are investing money into new technology to launch revolutionary products. Observe the present and feel the future on May 25 at WIS 2010.
