Senior Architect of Microsoft, Miha Kralj, at 2008 IT 21 Global Conference

Magical words like Green IT, Ubiquitous Town, and Cloud Computing are pouring out every day to bring May flowers. However, the truth is most of us are just barely surviving due to economic conditions.

Thereby, the great minds of the world gathered at the 2008 IT Global Conference to study the topic Wonderful IT Convergence, then they gathered once again in 2009 to face the economic crisis and brainstormed on how to create new jobs. This year, the all new, 2010 IT Global Conference will inspire people by introducing new growth engines.

A conference under the name of "Evolution and Revolution of Technology" will be held at the Seoul Palace Hotel from May 26 to May 27. The conference will focus on a new leap for the information technology industry of the 21st century.

Hot Potatoes in a Pot

The IT 21 Global Conference, sponsored by the Korea Information Processing Society (KIPS), will be held at the Seoul Palace Hotel from May 26 to May 27. The conference, named "Evolution & Revolution of Technology", will be attended by everyone involved in the IT industry to discuss hot issues such as the smartphones, 3D technology, green growth, and other latest trends. The main subject of this year's discussion will be on the next leap forward.

This is a major contrast from the IT 21 conference that was held last year under the topic of "Economy & Future Technologies," which discussed the creation of jobs during economic hardships through the IT industry.

What's New This Year

The IT 21 Global Conference this year will comprised of topics such as "Smartphone App & Platform", "Reality of Venture Opportunities", "Fusion Technology", "Green IT", "Media Service", the five tracks of information security. At each track, the most recent technology and further plans will be introduced and experts in each designated field will hold presentations.

This year, the Assistant Secretary of IT of Indonesia and Rwanda will attend the conference, by invitation, and discuss many business opportunities and cooperative businesses that will be held among Korea, Indonesia and Rwanda for further development in the IT industry.

Glue down to the Chair

There was much criticism concerning conferences held before. The IT 21 Global Conference had been too academic and scholarly that normal IT industry officials were hesitant to attend. Therefore, the IT 21 Global Conference is more geared towards non-professional IT industry officials. Most importantly, in order to prevent the participants from wanting to leave their seats, KIPS has focused its attention to creating a systematic program for each topic.

Chairman Lee Bong-kyu (Professor at Yonsei University), planned the conference and said, "If a participant attended the first track of the Smartphone App & Platform Apple theme called [The Mobile ecosystem and its change and response], the participant will then advance to following topics of [Introduction of the BADA platform], [Apple and its technological trend - iPhone and iPad], [Microsoft Smartphone Strategy as seen by the Experience Economy], and lastly [Smartphone and Mobile Cloud]. Participants will go through the five tracks and be able to draw a general picture of the Smartphone, its hot tends, and application platforms. The tracks will spur curiosity within participants, help them set clear goals for the future, and find solutions to their current problems."
