JAKARTA, Indonesia -- DANA's offline mobile payment system processes more than 10 billion rupiah in transactions
Inspiry International announced that its leading offline mobile payment solution, Inspiry Smart Box, has successfully supported Indonesian e-wallet giant DANA's "Double Eleven" marketing campaign in early November. During the campaign, DANA's offline mobile payments exceeded 10 billion Indonesian rupiah, according to PRNewswire on November 20.
The concept of "Double Eleven" comes from Singles Day, which happens on November 11 in China. It has been the country's most important shopping day since it was first launched by Alibaba Group on November 11, 2009. It has become the key annual event across Asia's e-commerce sector.
DANA is an electronic wallet, launched jointly by Ant Financial Services Group and Indonesian Emtek Group, which can process both online and offline payments across all scenarios. Commenting on the Indonesian "Double Eleven" marketing campaign, DANA CEO Vincent Iswara said, "DANA wants to help shoppers become more aware of and understand mobile payments, which can not only be completed online but also in real-world stores."
DANA adopted Inspiry Smart Box, a new-generation offline solution for mobile payments from China, for the campaign. Inspiry International COO Gao Zilong said, "The data from the 'Double Eleven' campaign shows again that the Inspiry Smart Box has easy, consistent and efficient deployment advantages in high-frequency payment scenarios anywhere where there is considerable traffic."
At present, the lightweight and intelligent offline mobile payment solution which is Inspiry Smart Box has become quite popular in China. In stores such as Ramayana and KFC in Indonesia, customers can handle their payment effortlessly and quickly through a self-service scan device. With the support of the new mobile payment terminal, the company's offline mobile payment handled more than 10 billion rupiah in transactions during the campaign.
Indonesia has more than 100 million smartphone users and is seen as having huge growth potential in terms of offline mobile payments. Gao said, "We believe that mobile payments in Southeast Asia and other regions are already on the eve of a break out.
