With over 34 million visitors worldwide, TripAdvisor's planned website for Korea arrives at a perfect time to assist with raising the Korean profile amongst business and leisure travelers. "Our new business-to-business division and global expansion in Asia will support segments and geographical areas with the highest growth potential and enable us to further solidify our leading position in the travel industry," said Steve Kaufer, founder and CEO of TripAdvisor.
The business-to-business division of TripAdvisor will enable Korean hoteliers to converse well and directly with researching travelers. Marc Charron, Managing Director, APAC, is responsible for expanding existing TripAdvisor business in Korea.
More than half of the traffic to TripAdvisor sites comes from outside of the United States of America. It is not yet known if TripAdvisor will consider a bilingual option for travelers researching Korea as a destination.
