
The Coex convention center opened the Global Electric Power Tech 2010 exhibition this morning. Dignitaries, exhibitors and buyers from diverse countries as well as Korean showcase companies attended the opening day which showcased green technology and smartgrid software and hardware. Dr Ryad Heidar, Director of Technology Exploration, visiting from the Syrian government was one such dignitary. Dr Ryad attended the show to assess digital imaging opportunities and novel methods for which Korean technology could be applied to harness the plentiful Syrian sunshine.

The exhibition runs for another two days until the 20th May. The opening day was well attended and subsequent days expect to see an increase in planned traffic to the event, the only one of its kind that showcases power plants, in Korea. The exhibition is on the third floor of the Coex convention center and is where over 300 companies from 25 countries are expected to meet 30,000 buyers.
