BEIJING -- During the 2018 Global Trend Conference, co-organized by Global Times and Huanqiu.com and held in Beijing on December 28, a concurrent forum themed Tapping the Potential and Seeking Innovation took place during which several invited financial industry experts and university research fellows delivered keynote speeches, among them, "Reform, Innovation and Responsibility" and "Industry Innovations in the Context of Ongoing Reform", as well as participated in roundtable discussions, according to PRNewswire on December 29.

The forum invited five industry experts, among them, former head of the Ministry of Finance's Chinese Academy of Fiscal Sciences Jia Kang, Central University of Finance and Economics professor Huang Zhen and the Center for Chinese Banking Studies director Guo Tianyong, to share their insights on five topics, including "An Open-minded Approach to the Rise of the Private Economy", "Ten Key Trends in the Future of Financial Technology" and "Thoughts on Private Small and Micro Businesses in the Financial Service Sector". They also discussed development and innovation across several industries during the 40 years of reform and opening up. During the roundtable discussions, four invited guests, among them, China Chengxin Credit Management vice president Shen Shuangbo and international energy strategy researcher Lu Ruquan, shared their opinions concerning innovation across industries in the context of ongoing reform.
The launch ceremony for Global Trends Institute sponsored by Huanqiu.com was held at the conference, in addition to the announcement of three key programs to be launched by Huanqiu.com in 2019, including the historical feature documentary I'm going to Yan'an, the 2019 Huanqiu Military Fans Cultural Festival and the 2019 Sino-Euro CEO Dialogue Show.
