Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO) has obtained the "ISO 37001 (Anti-Bribery Management System" certification from Korea Knowledge Standards Registrar (KSR) that oversees the certification of international standard anti-corruption management system on January 4.
ISO 37001 is an international standard for anti-corruption management system established by ISO (International Organization for Standardization) in 2016 to prevent corruption within the organization.
To establish the anti-corruption management system, KEPCO enacted guidelines and manuals for the system, implemented the anti-corruption policy, diagnosed and evaluated the corruption risks, and finally received ISO 37001 certification after completing all two rigorous reviews, including document screening and on-site inspections.
"The certification is evaluated for KEPCO's anti-corruption efforts such as the leader's strong will for anti-corruption, the establishment of a clean infrastructure such as the anti-corruption system, and continuous integrity activities involving all executives and employees," a KEPCO official said.
"As the public's view on public integrity increases, anti-corruption activities determine the public's confidence in the organization," KEPCO's executive auditor Lee Jung-hee said. "We will work harder to spread the anti-corruption and integrity culture so that KEPCO can become a more reliable institution for the public."
