Samsung SDI said on Jan. 8 that Harley-Davidson will use the SDI's battery pack for "LiveWire", which is the first electric motorcycle to be released by the world-class motorcycle company.

Harley-Davidson, which marks the 116th anniversary of its establishment this year, has joined hands with Samsung SDI, which boasts of its top-class battery technology and safety.

Harley-Davidson's first electric motorcycle started with "Project LiveWire" in 2014 and became a "LiveWire Motorcycle" after working with Samsung SDI for four years.

The company has recognized solid structure and innovative and stable pack design technology provided by Samsung SDI for motorcycles.

Harley-Davidson started developing electric motorcycles in earnest after receiving a VOC (Voice of Customer) request for more mileage from riders while conducting an experience event in 2014.

Thanks to technical cooperation, Harley-Davidson and Samsung SDI improved their mileage to 110 miles (about 180 kilometers), twice compared to the first model, which had 60 miles (about 97 kilometers) of mileage.
