Korean Air said on March 14 that it will not operate Boeing 737 MAX 8, which has recently been hit by a series of accidents, until the safety of it is completely secured.

Korean Air was initially scheduled to launch the Boeing 737 MAX 8 on its routes in May. Under the decision, the Boeing 737 MAX 8 will be replaced to other models.

"We are keeping an absolute safe operating system with the safety of our customers first," Korean Air said. "We are closely monitoring the situation regarding the introduction of aircraft, and we believe that Boeing will take measures to secure safety as soon as possible."
