Phylasso Security investors, including Google Philippines Country Head, Ken Lingan to join Bolton Labs' Board of Directors

BOCA RATON, Florida, March 25, 2019 -- Bolton Labs today announced their acquisition of Philippines-based cybersecurity solutions firm, Phylasso Security. The addition of Phylasso Security's capabilities, leadership, and customers further extends Bolton Labs' reach in the Southeast Asian market.

Founded in 2017 by serial entrepreneur and tech industry veteran, Anson Uy, and Google Philippines Country Head, Ken Lingan, Phylasso Security provides end-to-end cybersecurity solutions that help identify and mitigate cyber threats. Through the acquisition, Bolton Labs also gains several key customers in the Fintech space such as MegaLink, a leading online banking software provider and ExpressPay, a fast-growing payment services platform.

The Philippines was highlighted as one of the countries most prone to cyber-attacks in Southeast Asia according to new research commissioned by Cisco Systems.1 The report also noted that the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) cybersecurity capabilities are being held back by a dire shortage of local capabilities and expertise.

Bolton Labs CEO, Richard Dobrow said in a statement, "Anson Uy and Ken Lingan are amazing strategic resources for us as we expand into the Southeast Asian market. Our SOC Enablement Platform will bring much-needed flexibility and scalability to organizations and managed service providers throughout the region. Adding Phylasso Security to the Bolton Labs' portfolio reflects our strategy of rapid growth, both organically and through strategic acquisitions."

Bolton Labs COO, Patrick Linton added, "The integration of Phylasso Security into the Bolton Labs offer will enable us to further address the growing cybersecurity talent shortage for both our US and Southeast Asia-based customers. We are dedicated to serving the Philippines and the rest of Southeast Asia by combining the collective power of local and global resources."

Lingan said in a statement: "The growing global cybersecurity talent shortage is reaching a fever pitch and we are excited to be joining forces with Bolton Labs to improve how Southeast Asian companies staff, manage and optimize their Security Operation Centers to deliver a world-class capability."

Both Lingan and Uy will join the Bolton Labs Board of Directors. Details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
