Ng Keng Hooi, CEO and chairman of AIA Group, the largest life insurer in the Asia-Pacific region, visited Seoul to meet with SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won and discuss cooperation measures to create shared values and strengthen social values.
The two business leaders, who met at SK Telecom's headquarters in Seoul on May 9, are said to have engaged in a heated conversation under the theme of the common corporate philosophy -- "corporate social responsibility" and "creating shared values for the local community.
Both sides shared various ideas that the two companies could cooperate with each other for the same goal and also had deep talks on ways to resolve the challenges at hand.
AIA Group Chairman Hooi is widely known for his investment in establishing "eco-system," a business model that creates shared value that allows individuals (consumers), companies (insurers), partners, and communities alike to win-win through AIA vitality service.
Chairman Chey has also consistently stressed the importance of corporate social responsibility at the Davos forum this January, stressing enterprises' role in pursuing sustainable growth "social values."
"This meeting between the two group chairmen was a valuable time when both sides sought joint cooperation in creating social values for the community, not only in Korea, but also in other Asian countries," an AIA Life Insurance official said.
