A "foreign financier" to whom YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun-suk allegedly offered sexual favors was named Jho Low who managed slush funds of a former Malaysian prime minister.
Local media, including The Star, reported on May 29 that Jho Low, a financier on the run overseas, has been implicated in a scandal that received sexual favors from Yang, citing the content of MBC TV investigative program "Straight."
Based on a witness's statement, Straight reported that CEO Yang entertained two people from Thailand and Malaysia in July 2014. Related to this, a spokesman for Jho Low revealed his position through an attorney in the U.S.
The spokesman claimed, "Jho Low is Psy's friend and met Yang through Psy. He was not involved in any kind of action raised in the MBC report, and he doesn't know."
Joe Lowe, known as a close aide to the former Malaysian prime minister, is currently wanted by Interpol for allegedly creating and managing slush funds worth more than $4.5 billion (about 5.3 trillion won) through a state-run investment company called 1MDB.
Local media in Malaysia said that Jho Low was also involved in performance of Psy, then a singer of YG Entertainment, at the political party's BN event, just ahead of the 2013 general elections.
