We are most familiar with the word homogenized as it applies to our daily supply of milk. Yet the word means to change state, most often in a lab it means to liquefy a sample so that testing can be done. The innovations of Omni, the homogenizer company, who are distributed by Shinhan Science and Technology Co., Ltd, have enabled Korean companies to raise standards in R & D (research and development) to such that cross contamination can be prevented in labs by the introduction of omni's plastic homogeniser. The plastic homogeniser also allowed Koreans to save money with faster cleaning.
Omniprep
The company, Omni, made a discovery in equipment innovation while consulting for a client. The result was the omniprep system that enables a lab to homogenize up to six samples simultaneously and automatically. In terms of money savings, if the lab previously had technicians assigned to each instrument it frees up to 3-4 people up to do other tasks, in effect a wages return of 3-4 people. The importance of the time saving component of the innovation can really be understood in relation to the fact that saving time by simultaneously homogenizing could even be saving people.
New Innovations
A new product that enables the homogenization of bone, hair and nails is the beadmill homogenizer. Omnisystems also have an ultrasonic homogenizer for breaking cell walls. All of their new innovations in their products are about making life easier within a lab.
