Citibank Korea's labor union is getting into the act for solving the Japanese military sexual slavery problem. The bank union jointly organized a regular Wednesday rally with the Federation of Korean Trade Unions in front of the Japanese Embassy in Seoul on June 12 to solve the Japanese military sexual slavery problem. More than 150 people union members attended the rally.
Union members urged the Japanese government to recognize war crimes, make an official apology and stop distorting history at the protest.
They had a time sharing the pain of victims while watching a documentary film related to Japanese military sexual slavery victims and manufacturing bracelets to support for victims.
Song Byeong-joon, union leader of Citibank Korea, said, "We planned this solidarity as one of the labor union's social responsibility and duties, not a conventional labor union movement. Many union members sympathized with the issue to solve the Japanese military sexual slavery problem, which has not been still resolved this year, which marks the 100th anniversary of the March 1 movement and the Korean provisional government."
Citibank Korea's labor union has been conducting steady social solidarity activities through various volunteer activities and donations, including wall painting activities, sponsoring the Green Korea United and supporting children for climate refugees.
