SEOUL-- LG Display Co., the world's second-largest liquid-crystal display maker, said Friday it plans to form a light-emitting diode packaging joint venture in China.
LG Display and China-based AmTran Technology Co. will each invest USD6 million for a 20 percent stake each in the venture to be set up in Jiangsu.
Taipei-based Everlight Electronics Co. will also invest USD18 million in the venture, which will begin operations around the end of the year, LG Display said.
