Hyosung Chairman Cho Hyun-joon met with Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue during his visit to Korea on June 19 and decided to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
Hue is Vietnam's economic control tower, which governs the finance ministry, the investment planning department and the central bank.
During the meeting, Cho explained about new businesses such as establishing a polypropylene plant in Ba Rịa–Vung Tau Province and a tire cord plant in Quang Nam Province, and asked for the Vietnamese government's interest and support.
“Vietnam is a global complex production base that produces all of Hyosung's core products and is a very important region in Hyosung,” Cho said, adding that he hopes to maintain friendly relations with each other and strengthen cooperation.
Meanwhile, Hue said, “Hyosung is one of the largest investment companies in Vietnam. We will actively support the Hyosung’s projects actively.”
Chairman Cho has continued to have friendly relations with senior Vietnamese officials, meeting Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc to discuss business cooperation in 2016 and 2018.
