KOSHUMA, KPBA sign a pact for development of smart human tech industry

Korea Smart Human Technology Association (KOSHUMA) and Korea Patent Bar Association (KPBA) signed a business agreement for the development of the smart human technology industry on June 25 at Dream Plus Gangnam in Seoul.

The ceremony was attended by Bae Young-hoon, president of KOSHUMA and concurrently CEO of IVS, and other executives of major associations, as well as Koo Tae-eon, chairman of KPBA. 

The two organizations will jointly study patent-related work and seek improvement of related legal systems and regulations for the association's companies armed with all the technologies and products needed to build smart cities, and will co-organize various public hearings, debates and lectures.

In addition, as KPBA has specialized capabilities in intellectual property field, it will also provide regular legal advices to members of the association for their rights and interests, such as IP education support projects, IP protection support projects and IP dispute response support projects.

"Patents are very important to protect the smart human-tech industry, and we are pleased to receive all legal services related to patents from the association through this agreement," said Chairman Bae, adding that our members have been able to get a lot of help in obtaining various patents, dispute resolution and other areas.

KOSHUMA has 180 member companies as it was established by small and medium-sized companies armed with smart city construction-related technologies in April to develop smart human products, ideas and contents, and to foster smart human technology industries.

Meanwhile, KPBA is a group of lawyers with special abilities in the field of intellectual property, and has supported the research of intellectual property rights systems at home and abroad, the exchange of lawyers with expertise in the field of intellectual property rights, and the work of patent lawyers in the field of intellectual property rights.
