Merck Korea (Managing Director & Representative Director: Glenn Young), today officially announced Javed Alam as newly appointed General Manager of Biopharma, Korea. Before joining Korea on July 1, 2019, he worked as the Managing Director and General Manager of Merck Biopharma Vietnam Cluster based in Ho Chi Minh City. He has 21 years of pharmaceutical experience in country, regional and global HQ strategy and commercial operations working at Novartis, MSD and Sanofi Aventis until joining Merck in 2014.
He has been an active member of industry associations. He served on Vietnam ethical pharma industry association, Pharma Group Vietnam, as member of the board and elected treasurer for two successive terms. And now been elected on KRPIA (Korean Research based Pharma Industry Association) board effective July 2019. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration with majors in Finance and marketing, and holds a post graduate diploma in leadership capability. He has lived in 7 countries including Korea and loves to travel. He looks forward to leading Merck Korea Biophamra organization for the achievement of short and long term business and policy objectives successfully.
