Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO) opened EN:TER, an energy business platform, from Aug. 5. EN:TER is a business platform that brokers various energy services to users, providing "business matching services" and "customer convenience services".
The business matching service consists of the "Energy Service Company (ESCO) Market," "Demand Response (DR) Market" and 'EPS (Energy Power Data Service) Market."
ESCO refers to a company that finances investment to replace aging or low-efficiency energy use facilities with high-efficiency facilities and recoups investment with energy savings that occur after replacement projects.
The DR is a system in which electricity users are compensated economically by reducing electricity use according to the instructions of the Korea Power Exchange for reducing power supply costs or reducing peak demand in case of a power system crisis.
EDS is a new service created through the connection of heterogeneous data by consumers by easily checking their electricity usage online or by providing their own power data to the operator.
On the other hand, EN:TER also provides customer service, such as downloading the KEPCO mobile app, guiding the electric company in our neighborhood, providing information on distributed power, power statistics, KEPCO patent search, etc. so that users can easily access various information in the energy sector, a KEPCO spokesman said.
