The Internet of Things (IoT) home security service has been launched that can protect the home from the dangers of theft and home invasions, which are aimed at single-person households and empty homes during the vacation season.
LG Uplus (vice chairman Ha Hyun-hoe) announced on August 7 that it will launch a "home-guarded service" with IoT security that can detect intrusions in the home and easily report emergency situations to 112 in case of emergency situations.
This service is a comprehensive home security service that not only detects intrusion through IoT sensors, but also provides siren notification to video security services through CCTV recording and 112 simple reporting.
If you apply for a service, you can take 360° panoramic pictures and use CCTVs that recognize people. IoT devices such as an open alarm that detects and notifies opening of windows or front doors, and a motion alarm that rings sirens by detecting motion even in dark night with infrared sensors are provided.
For example, if you press a button on a device to register a someone you know, you can send SOS text messages to the person you registered such as "There's an emergency in my house. We need your help." Customers who subscribe to the service will be provided with insurance coverage.
"By using IoT technology, we can provide all necessary functions such as prevention, monitoring, verification, reporting and compensation," said Ryu Chang-soo, executive vice president of LG Uplus' smart home product group. "We hope that customers who have been anxious about recent events will feel safe with IoT security services."
