S-OIL held a delivery ceremony for the "2019 S-OIL Dream Scholarship" to help youngsters achieve their academic and independence at a child care facility in downtown Seoul on Aug. 8 and delivered a total of 330 million won to 135 youths, including scholarship for the Sundeok Choir.

S-OIL has provided a total of 1.2 billion won in the dream scholarship to a total of 485 people from 2016 to this year.

It provided 2.5 million won each in scholarship to 60 students who majored in science and engineering, including chemical engineering, machinery, electricity and electronics, among college students who graduated from child care centers. S-OIL supports students until they graduate so that they can reliably concentrate on their studies.

It also delivered 2 million won each in technology education fees to 75 high school students who are preparing to get jobs to help them acquire professional skills or certificates such as heavy equipment, computers, beauty, and baking.

The S-OIL Dream Scholarship is not just a one-off donation, but aims to provide learning and educational opportunities to promote emotional stability of the youth of children's welfare facilities and grow up as a member of a healthy society.

"Education opens the way for young people to express their potential, seize opportunities and create their own future," said Hussain Al-Qahtani, CEO of S-OIL, adding, "S-OIL will continue to actively support students so that they can enter society with expertise and skills and take a step closer to their respective dreams."
