LG Electronics said on Aug. 13 that it has released an all-in-one Energy Storage System (ESS) for 100kW solar power generation.
This product is an integral part that integrates several components of ESS into one. It is easy to install as it is a package system comprising Power Conditioning System(PCS), Power Management System (PMS), batteries, heating and cooling system, and fire extinguishing facilities.
The new product is equipped with a 313 kWh battery, which is 14 percent bigger than the previous one. It also comes with LG Electronics' 99-kilowatt PCS and LG Chem batteries. The battery capacity will remain up to 75.4 percent after 15 years.
LG Electronics has strengthened safety of its new products in line with the guideline to strengthen pre-ESS inspections announced by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in December last year. It added a non-flammable finish material inside and shuts off the battery power in case of battery power failure, preventing fire.
LG Electronics passed the standard (IEC62477-1, 5.2.4.2) for testing fire in the event of electric shocks under the presence of global certification agency TUV SUD for 250kW PCS products, which are most commonly used for commercial use. TUV SUD is a global certification body that certifies standards for electric, electronic products, and energy devices.
