Hyundai Rotem will support the construction of an educational environment improvement project for schools in Delhi, India.
Hyundai Rotem said on Aug. 23 that it has completed the work to improve educational environment of the NDMC (North Delhi Municipal Corporation) school in the northern Indian city of Delhi.
About 40 school and Hyundai Rotem officials attended the ceremony, and various events were held, starting with welcoming ceremonies, introducing the results of the construction, explaining how to manage the school in the future and visiting the site where the improvement was completed.
Hyundai Rotem's support for the improvement of the educational environment stems from its desire to co-exist with the community and fulfill the social responsibility of the company as a local business operator. The construction began in November last year and was completed in about 10 months, and Hyundai Rotem provided the entire cost of the construction.
Hyundai Rotem has been making steady progress in the Indian market where it conducted the latest social contribution activities. Starting with 280 trains from Delhi RS1 in 2001, the company has won orders for a total of 1,397 trains in the Indian market.
In particular, Hyundai Rotem has won nearly 1,000 railway vehicles in the Delhi area where the construction was carried out, which is about 70 percent of Hyundai Rotem's total orders from India.
"The construction will allow students to receive quality education in a better educational environment," a Hyundai Rotem official said. "We will continue to take the lead in fulfilling corporate social responsibility by working on social contribution activities at home and abroad."
