Korean Air will launch joint operations with Royal Brunei Airlines on the Incheon-Brunei route from Sept. 4.

Joint operation is an inter-carrier partnership that results in the expansion of flight services by selling seats of rival airlines under their flight names.

The joint operation calls for Korean Air to participate as a seller on Royal Brunei Airlines' Incheon-Brunei flight route. Korean Air can expect the effect of expanding the route without directly launching the Incheon-Brunei route.

Customers who book tickets for a joint Korean Air flight will be able to enjoy Korean Air's convenient, reliable booking and ticketing services, while also setting aside Skypass  mileage.

Known as the "Lungs of Asia" for preserving the ecosystem of primitive nature, Brunei has 85 percent of its land in forests and woodland areas.

In addition, it is expected that Korea and Brunei will continue to expand industrial-related human exchanges based on stable economic exchanges in the construction and energy sectors.

Meanwhile, Korean Air is currently co-operating with 35 airlines worldwide, including members of the SkyTeam such as Delta Airlines and Air France, and plans to provide more convenient and diverse schedules and options to customers through the expansion of the ongoing joint operation, a Korean Air spokesman said.
