S-OIL held a volunteer activity for " Sharing Songpyeon (half-moon-shaped rice cake) with low-income people" on the occasion of Chuseok (Korean version of Thanksgiving Day) at the Seongsan Social Welfare Center, Ewha Woman’s University in Mapo-gu, Seoul on Sept. 4.

S-OIL CEO Hussain Al-Qahtani and about 100 executives and employees personally made Songpyeon and wrapped it with groceries and daily necessities and delivered it to 800 families of low-income families, including single-parent families, disabled people and elderly living alone in Mapo-gu.

Al-Qahtani, who took up the CEO post in June, conducted his first holiday volunteer work in South Korea under the Korean name of "Ha Se-in." "The Korean name means a person who blesses people in a big house with overflowing energy. I hope to share  good fortune with not only the S-OIL family but also neighbors to make everyone happy," said the CEO.

After visiting low-income families to deliver the Chuseok gift set, Al Qahtani said, "I think our society will be a better place to live if people express and practice their inner goodness. S-OIL will also continue to make efforts to help neighbors feel a warm heart."

For 13 years since 2007, S-OIL has been actively engaged in sharing rice cake soup on the New Year's Day and sharing songpyeon on Chuseok to help its neighbors have a warm holiday.
