Samsung Electronics is also going to complete its second reservation for 'Galaxy fold 5G'
The second preorder volume for Samsung Electronics' Galaxy Fold 5G has been sold out. According to mobile telecommunication industry on Sept. 18, all supplies of Galaxy Fold 5G secured by SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus were booked for the morning of the day.
It is heard that Samsung Electronics' second preorders for self-supporting products, which started at the midnight on the same day, closed in 15 minutes.
There were reportedly about 6,000 Galaxy Fold 5Gs that are secured by the three mobile telecommunication operators through the second preorders. Although the second preorder volume was larger than that of the first time, all of them were exhausted early.
When Galaxy Folds were released on Sept. 6, they were all sold in about 10 minutes. Analysts say that early adopters have chosen to hold onto the world's first foldable smartphone.
SK Telecom said it closed its online preorders at around 10 a.m. It is heard that initial supplies at KT and LG Uplus have been booked.
Galaxy Fold 5G's store price is 2.398 million won, the highest ever. Nevertheless, it seems that early adopters have chosen to hold onto the world's first foldable smartphone.
"There are predictions that Galaxy Folds will be sold out early not only in South Korea but also in overseas markets," said a representative for the industry.
It is expected that Galaxy Folds will be released in the U.K., France, Germany, Singapore, and the U.S. on Sept. 18 and 21.
