The 2019 Bitgaram International Exposition of Electric Power Technology (BIXPO 2019), which leads the new technology in the energy sector, will be held for three days from Nov. 6 to 8 at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center and Holiday Inn Hotel in Gwangju, the KEPCO said on Sept. 30.
Under the theme of 'Digital Platform (Hyper-Connectivity & Mega Shift),' BIXPO, which marks its fifth anniversary this year, will feature various events such as new technology exhibitions, international conferences, international patent exhibitions and job fairs.
The annual BIXPO, which has been held since 2015, has led the development of energy technology and explored new business models, and has achieved shared growth in the region and small businesses through collaborative convergence.
The BIXPO 2019 will focus on the digital hyper-connected society that has led to the Internet of Things (IoT), Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the mega shift that takes place in all fields, a KEPCO spokesman said.
It is expected to present trends in energy technologies in the digital age through exhibitions of new technologies and more than 50 international conferences involving 290 global companies that lead the trend of new technologies.
At the opening ceremony, which will be the first official event, Seoul National University Prof. Cha Sang-kyun, a big data expert, will give a keynote lecture covering BIXPO 2019.
As an auxiliary event, BIXPO will also be a venue for festivals with the region, offering various events such as performances and cultural tours.
