Global outdoor company Blackyak has received a plaque of appreciation from Oregon Gov. Kate Brown.
Blackyark Chairman Kang Tae-sun, Oregon Gov. Kate Brown, and officials from the Oregon State's economic development bureau, the U.S. Embassy in Korea, and Port Authority of Portland attended the ceremony held at the Blackyark office on Nov. 8.
Since its acquisition of the sustainable lifewear "Nau" in Portland, Oregon, west of the U.S., Blackyak has been recognized for boosting the Oregon's regional economy and received a plaque of thanks from Gov. Brown.
Governor Kate Brown thanked Blackyak Chairman Kang Tae-sun for his efforts to boost the Oregon's economy as well as grow Nau into a sustainable company, and said she hoped the encounter would be an opportunity for the development of both countries and will seek various support from the state level.
"Nau, which has a unique story from Portland, and Blackyak, which continues to grow in the global market, are becoming more competitive with synergy," said Chairman Kang, adding, "We will continue to do our best to create various economic, social and cultural opportunities based on sustained growth and contribute to the development of the two countries."
