Concepts for technology application are all relative in explanation and we each tend to choose a concept that makes sense to us when confronted with something little understood or explaining things, when circumstances allow.
KIT (the Korea IT Times) presents some displays and product applications for LED and OLED from the LED and OLED exhibition 2010 that were new and interesting and some that have evolved from artistic or new interpretations of LED and OLED.
HYDROPONICS
Hydroponics is a valid field selection for application of LED and OLED for energy and emission savings. Pundits differ in their estimation of the current state of per watt costs but it was said by a lighting industry expert that, 'LED costs about a dollar [USD] per watt now and standard lighting is [USD] 0.50 cents.' And there isn't one R & D department among the fledgling companies that isn't working to make LED and OLED more accessible to consumers. There were also individual LED lit plant pots on display.
DESIGN
Maltani exhibited LED and OLED 2010 with a revolutionary concept, wireless, moveable LED wall art. The idea is in prototype and KIT were granted permission to bring photos. Here is the concept in photos:
HRSG and HR FOR LED
As consumers of LED, KIT asked pundits about the concept of HR (heat recovery) and HRSG (heat recovery steam generation) for LED. Not such a wierd question after all. We discovered that such an invention was seen at the Taiwan LED show. The closest we could find to the concept at the KINTEX was the Lustrous fast heat diffusing prop. The prop is used to diffuse heat away from the light stream quickly. The design of the Lustrous prop gives their product a low heat resistance number [the lower the number the faster the heat is siphoned away, this prevents light stream distortion].
