The Korean Government had the honor of winning the 'Global E-government System 2010.' The 2010 United Nations Public Service Day was held at the AXA Convention Center in Barcelona, Spain, for 3 days. And on the 23rd of June (local time), Korea's e-Government System was chosen as the winner. The award is newly formed this year and it evaluated the website of e-government services around the world by the standards, quality and level of government online services, convenience for users, administrative efficiency and other aspects.
From now on, Korea pursues cooperation with the UN Public Administration Knowledge System. This organization collects and analyzes the basic data of e-government policy and infrastructures from 192 UN member states. The Korean Government also plans to involve itself in building e-government systems and provide e-government experience and technology to the United Nations.
Korea is expected to take a role as a hub platform for structuring E-government in the world. Also, it will raise the standing of the national brand and expand exports in non-IT products and services.
