uLikeKorea, a smart livestock healthcare management company, announced on Jan. 20 that it has signed an MOU with Denmark’s largest telecommunication company TDC to launch the world’s first NB-IoT (Narrow Band IoT) bio capsule in Denmark.
The signing ceremony was held with attendance of Michael Stugaard, vice president of TDC, Kim Hee-jin, CEO of uLikeKorea, and other guests..
"The MOU was meaningful since Denmark carries a premium market with over 1.5 million cows and will serve as a gateway for us to enter the European market where it has over 90 million cows," Kim said.
uLikeKorea has recently developed the world’s first NB-IoT bio-capsule and will start a test project in the first half of 2020 at a dairy farm.
With the MoU, uLikeKorea (Livecare Europe ApS) and TDC will not only launch the capsule but also cooperate in creating new business opportunities. NB-IoT technology enable transmission/exchange of data using minimum power and has high demand in  B2B and public infrastructure projects.
TDC started its origin in 1882 and has over 7,000 employees serving around 6 million customers in the telecommunication field and has expanded its network capability to provide NB-IoT and other next generation technology to link the suburbs and metropolitan areas.
"Through cooperation with TDC, we have completed the development of the NB-IoT bio-capsule and identified the PoC farm. In addition, TDC and uLikeKorea plan to conduct additional R&D to develop other appropriate hardware and software, including data analysis, to contribute to the livestock management in Europe," CEO Kim added.
