Ha Suk-joo, CEO of Lotte Engineering & Construction (Lotte E&C), was elected chairman of the Korea Federation of Construction Contractors (KFCC) at its annual general meeting for 2020 held at Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul on Feb. 13.
KFCC, which was launched in 1992, currently has 24 large construction companies representing the nation`s construction industry as its members. Its first chairman was Hyundai Engineering & Construction CEO Kim Jung-kook.
Daewoo Engineering & Construction CEO Chang Young-soo and GS Engineering & Construction CEO Huh Myung-soo also served as its chairman.
CEO Ha, who was unanimously elected as the chairman of the federation, will serve as the head of the large construction companies for three years until February 2023.
Ha, who was born in 1958 and joined Lotte Chilsung Beverage in 1983, worked for Lotte Group's planning and coordination office and served as the head of management support division and housing business division at Lotte Engineering& Construction, and has been the CEO of Lotte E&C since March 2017.
At the general meeting, CEO Ha of Lotte E&C vowed to do his best to resolve various problems facing the domestic construction industry and let the federation achieve a new leap forward.
