S-OIL said on March 5 that it has donated 500 million won to the Hope Bridge National Disaster Relief Association to support people suffering from the new coronavirus infection.
"While the whole nation is having a hard time with the COVID-19 outbreak, S-OIL is also trying to join the national effort to share the pain," said CEO Hussain A. Al-Qahtani. "I hope that our donation will help those who are having a hard time."
CEO Al-Qahtani is taking care of executives and employees inside the company. The company is working hard to relieve anxiety and secure safety against infectious diseases by implementing time-departing commuting, telecommuting, providing masks and hand sanitizer, and family care leave.
In particular, he sent out a message of support for employees in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province who suffered the most, along with masks and disinfectants.
Although he is a foreign CEO, he is showing sincerity to overcome national difficulties with Korean society.
The CEO letter enclosed with the goods said, "Cheer up, Daegu, North Gyeongsang Province. Cheer up, the Republic of Korea."
Meanwhile, CEO Al-Qahtani is actively trying to assimilate into Korean culture by having a New Year's trip with executives and employees at Cheonggye Mountain in Seoul in January this year
