Korea Development Bank (KDB) and the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) will hold a startup fair "NextRise 2020, Seoul" at COEX for two days from June 23 to 24. They will hold 1:1 consultations among startups, large, medium-sized companies and investors at the venue.

KDB and KITA plan to receive applications for on-site consultation with domestic and foreign companies and investors for venture and start-ups to support business cooperation and investment attraction, the state-run KDB said on May 11.

NextRise 2020, Seoul is an event held by the two institutions together with the National Association of Science and Technology Research, the Venture Business Association, and the Venture Capital Association to boost the innovative growth ecosystem shrunk by the COVID-19 and to support the shared growth of startups and large companies.

They expect NextRise to be the starting point for venture and startups, domestic and foreign companies and investors to get together to overcome the crisis caused by the coronavirus infection.

This event is the largest open innovation fair in name and reality, involving 50 domestic large medium-sized companies and a number of foreign conglomerates, and will support business cooperation and market development of startups that have shrunk due to the outbreak of the COVID-19.

In addition, large and medium-sized enterprises plan to seek open innovation through collaboration with startups to discover new growth engines and promote shared growth with startups.

In addition, more than 20 leading domestic and foreign investment institutions, including the Korea Development Bank, will participate in 1:1 investment promotion consultations at the site. Start-ups are expected to resume sluggish investment attraction activities with Corona 19, while investors will find and invest promising startups to foster next-generation unicorns.
