Samsung Electronics announced on May 28 that it has released In-Home Fitness and Wellness applications "Samsung Health" on Samsung smart TVs in major countries such as Korea, the United States, and the United Kingdom on May 27.

Samsung Health, which was only provided for mobile devices, will be able to be enjoyed on the screen through Samsung's 2020 smart TVs, including QLED TVs.

Samsung Health for smart TVs not only recommends high-definition home training videos such as aerobic exercise, stretching, muscle exercise, and yoga according to the level of difficulty set by users, but also provides mind health care contents that help them meditate and sleep.

Samsung Health will provide various health care contents free of charge by collaborating with "Calm," which is well-known as the No. 1 app in sleep and meditation, "300 Fit," which provides exercise know-how of famous domestic and foreign sports trainers through video, "Wassup Guys," which specializes in home fitness, "SHP," an integrated health care platform, and "Smart Healthcare Pal" and "Healthy Home Lab".

Samsung's health TV app has a "Routines" function, so if you set your preferred exercise and time, it tells you when to exercise while watching TV and recommends proper exercise. There is also a "challenge" program that allows users to compete against other users who have Samsung health accounts.

In addition, users can check the number of steps, sleep, and calorie consumption recorded in Samsung Health on their mobile devices on a large screen on the dashboard of the TV app, and on the contrary, they can check the records of their exercise using the TV app on mobile devices.

“The whole intention of Samsung Health is to motivate our consumers to live healthier lives by meeting them wherever they are, across Samsung platforms,” said Won-Jin Lee, Executive Vice President of Service Business at Samsung Electronics. “We knew that to do this, we needed to develop a user-centric and immersive platform that offered a variety of in-home fitness and wellness options. Given the current climate, we hope that the launch of Samsung Health makes it easier for our consumers to prioritize their physical and mental wellbeing on a daily basis.”
