LG CNS has developed automatic salary transfer technology by combining RPA (Robotic Process Automation) and AI technology and will start 'Automatic Pay Transfer Service' for the first time in Korea.

LG CNS will commercialize the service made with RPA+AI technology for the first time at KB Kookmin Bank's branches, accelerating the digital transformation of the financial sector.

RPA, which has recently received much attention and has been applied to various tasks, is a technology that replaces simple tasks that humans do.

LG CNS added AI technology to RPA. With the addition of AI, complex tasks can be automated, replacing tasks that require judgment from people such as banks’ salary transfers.

LG CNS' RPA+AI technology has automated all of the bank's salary transfer procedures through its respective roles. Previously, a person in charge of the bank's salary transfer picked up a payroll register from a company and moved it to the bank's internal network.

LG CNS RPA performs the above tasks instead without the need for a single mouse click of a salary transfer officer. Data transferred to the bank's internal network will be inherited by AI. Each company has a different form and expression on its payroll. The amount of salary, employee name, depositor, account number, etc. are mixed up, and there is only data value without title, the cells of the document are merged, and there is a lot of unnecessary data, etc.

LG CNS AI, which has learned hundreds of thousands of salary data, will begin the process of extracting only the data needed to transfer salaries. It analyzes the data listed in numbers to distinguish account numbers and salary amounts, performs tasks such as finding actual payments even if the employee name and depositor are different, and generates new documents necessary for the bank's payroll payment work and delivers them to the RPA.

Finally, RPA automatically enters documents created by AI into the bank's payroll transfer system. Payments are automatically processed when the bank manager checks only the data entered into the system.

LG CNS's RPA+AI technology reduces the processing time of salary transfers that take place in the middle of the bank's work, increasing customer service hours and reducing overtime hours.

In cooperation with KB Kookmin Bank, LG CNS plans to expand its automatic salary transfer service to all branches nationwide by the end of this year. It gradually expands its branches without applying them all at once, collects various unique cases, and upgrades its services.

LG CNS is finding out who will be applied to RPA by accurately identifying the complex tasks of customers in different industries by utilizing the know-how of first-place companies that establish IT systems. After applying RPA to LG CNS's internal work, which is similar to its client company, it also finds tasks for customers' digital transformation by verifying their technology.

"Like the KB Kookmin Bank project, we will expand the scope of service application by combining various new IT technologies such as AI, big data, and chatbots into RPA," said Lee Ho-gun, head of the LG CNS Development Innovation Center.
