Starting from June 10, Korean Air will conduct "Back to Front"-style Zone Boarding for passengers on all domestic and international flights.

Zone Boarding refers to the boarding which subdivides the zones in the aircraft and sets the order for passengers’ boarding according to the zone. Korean Air uses the "Back to Front" method to start boarding passengers in the rear row.

Zone is divided by aircraft size, and the zone number is printed on the boarding pass so that passengers can easily check their boarding order.

Rear row passengers are given a quick number, and exceptional passengers with infants and children, the elderly and those in need of help are allowed to board first, regardless of the zone number.

This is part of keeping social distance to prevent COVID-19 infection. The existing regular passengers were lined up at once. To prevent congestion, however, it subdivided the zone and set the order by zone to secure distance between passengers. In addition, the possibility of contact between passengers in the cabin was minimized by boarding from the rear row.

Meanwhile, Korean Air is practicing social distance throughout the entire journey to prevent the spread of COVID-19. It makes it mandatory for passengers and staff to wear masks and carries out regular disinfection once a week on all aircraft.

In addition, heat check is conducted for passengers on all routes, and various protective equipment such as protective clothing, goggles, and masks are provided to cabin crew members. It also has anti-infection products, including hand sanitizers at airports and airplanes.
