POSCO, ICT and IBM announced on 29th October that they will develop Renewable Energy Management System that is a core system for stable supplying electricity produced by renewable energy with customer charge to factories, buildings and homes by connecting with the existing grid.
Renewable Energy Management System is necessary system of smart grid operating facilities that produce electricity with renewable energy such as wind power and photovoltaic and stably supply electricity to existing electricity grid.
First of all, they will analyse prior scenario on the change of energy demand and supply in case that Renewable Energy Management System is applied to smart grid. Then, they will establish a swift energy operating plan by establishing a real-time responding system. By doing so, operating efficiency will be improved by real-time monitoring and remote control about electricity supply.
Two companies are planning to apply this system to smart grid demonstration complex first, and then supply to manufacturing factories such as steel and chemicals and buildings.
