On behalf of Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI), it is my pleasure to announce the official opening of 10Gbps GLORIAD trans-Pacific Link (Hong Kong-Daejeon-Seattle) in Korea as of August 1.
Almost a year ago, Korea joined the multi-national GLORIAD program as the fourth core member. It has always been our belief that the GLORIAD will connect scientific communities across nations with advanced science and engineering network. Korea s participation expanded research collaborations among researchers around the world. As Canada and the Netherlands join, the GLORIAD will be further developed and expanded. Korea is bringing the first 10Gbps circuit across the pacific to the GLORIAD, and I hope this is the beginning of Big GLORIAD.
Korea is preparing for Grand Opening for Big GLORIAD and it is my great pleasure and honor to invite you to join the official opening ceremony, which is on September 5-6 in Seoul, Korea. The GLORIAD leaders and the senior government officials from 6 countries as well as academic personage are expected to be at the ceremony. The ceremony will be followed by the symposium on Monday September 5 and the GLORIAD learders meeting will be held on Tuesday September 6.
I cordially invite you to particpate in the Grand Opening GLORIAD for the Big GLORIAD and I sincerely look forward to welcoming and seeing you there.
Dr. Young-Hwa Cho
