Ewha Womans University Medical Center (EUMC)’s OB/GYN professor Ju Woong gave his lecture to students of Harvard University, one of the most prestigious universities in the world to pursue the international exchange of academic cultures. It was a part of Ewha-HCAP (Harvard College in Asia Program).
Prof. Ju Woong’s lecture with the title of State of the Art Healthcare Technology in Korea offered the world’s highest performance of Korea’s uterus cancer treatment as well as its extended life-expectancy as long as other European countries. He said, “Korea’s medical system provides high-quality medical service against its relatively low medical expenses to GDP. This is attributable to Korean doctors’ excellence in operation and its advanced medical technology.”
He also introduced Cervicography, the Internet-based test method of uterus cancer developed by Korea, and claimed that such a medical device for remote diagnosis would be an alternative to the countries lack of medical resource, requesting that those students from Harvard and Ewha Womans University should have more keen attention on medical environment in the world. After the special lecture, the participants had a tour around Ewha Women's University Cancer Center(http://eng.eumc.ac.kr) for Women and Lady Ward exclusive for female cancer patients.
Meanwhile, Prof. Ju Woong graduated from Harvard School of Public Health and earned his master’s degree there for the first time as a Korean OB/GYN clinician, who has a specialty in the gynecologic-oncologic areas like cervical cancer and ovarian cancer.
