Kia Motors announced on June 24 that it released a 2016 version of Soul which is a diesel model mounted with a seven-speed DCT (double-clutch transmission).
The newly-released Seoul adopts a new transmission to improve fuel efficiency, while featuring a wider adoption of customer-preferred specifications. A Kia Motors official said, “The new Soul uses outdoor items to improve space utilization and employs a seven-speed DCT to improve driving performance and economic value.”
The Soul 1.6-liter Diesel has a compound fuel efficiency of 15.8 kilometers per liter (based on 16-inch tires), a 12 percent improvement compared to the existing models’ 14.1 kilometers per liter.
Its roof rack is mounted as a basic option for all diesel trims and gasoline prestige-plus models. Outdoor items such as the roof box and bicycle carrier will be displayed at the customizing Tuon Mall.
The retail price ranges from 16.0 million won to 20.75 million won for 1.6-liter gasoline models, while that for 1.6-liter diesel models stand between 20.75 million won and 22.75 million won.
