Samsung Electronics’ new foldable smartphone ‘Galaxy Z Flip’ will be released in South Korea starting today.
Samsung Electronics and three mobile carriers SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus said they will start selling the "Galaxy Z Flip" at 9 a.m. on Feb. 14. Online channels such as Samsung.com and Coupang will also sell their own supplies starting today.
Industries are predicting that about 20,000 units of "Galaxy Z Flip" will be released during the first week of release. This is almost 10 times more than the last "Galaxy Fold."
Samsung Electronics is planning to popularize foldable Smartphones by supplying more quantity than "Galaxy Fold" that was released last year. "Galaxy Z Flip" has drastically lowered its price to 1.65 million won compared to Galaxy Fold.
"Galaxy Z Flip" is a 6.7-inch smartphone when opened, but when folded, it becomes a small size that goes into the palm of your hand.
"Galaxy Z Flip" is a folder phone that folds up and down unlike Galaxy Fold, which folds on right and left sides.
Meanwhile, Samsung Electronics has set a goal of selling 2.5 million units this year with a plan to make it the first year of popularizing foldable phones.
